Under Dr. Narayan’s leadership, BMRG pioneered the Coca-Cola PlantBottle, starting with 30% bio-based content in 2015 and influencing the 100% version in 2021. It also contributed to the U.S. BioPreferred program, aligning with federal sustainability goals and achieving up to 50% lower carbon emissions.

The lab co-develops advanced biodegradable polymers with Zhejiang University, government agencies and industry partners. It converts research findings—including antibacterial polylysine—into market-ready products while promoting regional sustainability through public education.
