PLA-Coated Paper Cups — Compostable Hot and Cold Cups Without the Plastic Lining

The standard paper cup is lined with polyethylene — a plastic film that makes the cup neither recyclable nor compostable in practice. Greenstar's PLA-coated paper cups replace that PE lining with a plant-based PLA coating, so the whole cup can go to industrial composting instead of landfill.

The line covers hot-drink cups (PLA-laminated, for coffee and tea service) and cold-drink cups (PLA thermoformed), for coffee chains, QSR brands, airlines, and event catering. The PLA coating provides the grease and moisture barrier hot and cold beverages require, with print-ready outer surfaces for brand graphics.

Certifications: compostable to ASTM D6400, EN 13432, and GB/T 19277 — one product family documented for North America, Europe, and China. In industrial composting, the cups break down fully within 90 days and are non-toxic. At group level, BioStar's compostable bag lines are BPI certified (Shaoxing Lvxing New Material Co., Ltd., BPI company #10529209; verify at the BPI Product Catalog listing).
